AI-POWERED SOLAR MINI GRIDS IN AFRICA
By Paul Ndiho
In Africa, most people in rural areas have no access to electricity or are entirely cut off from the power grid. As a result, they resort to expensive and polluting energy products like kerosene lanterns and generators. But help is on the way. Husk Power Systems, a Colorado, US-based company, uses its AI-enabled solar mini-grids to deliver 100% renewable power for homes, businesses, streetlights, health centers, farmers, and d many more to off-grid rural communities in East Africa and West Africa. For more, I am joined by William Brent, Chief Marketing Officer, Husk Power Systems, Barcelona, Spain, via Skype.
