CHINA TRAINING AFRICAN MILITARY OFFICERS

A new study released last month by the Africa Center for Strategic Studies says China trains nearly 2,000 African military officers annually at military and political academies. An additional 500 African officers were attending the PLA Naval Medical University.

The study says China envisages professional military education in Africa as an opportunity to promote China’s governance model while deepening ties to Africa’s ruling political parties.
