BRIDGING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE IN MALAWI’S RURAL SCHOOLS

Using feature phones and homemade wooden tablets brings a new meaning to E-learning and perhaps bridging the digital divide that affects most rural Malawi. Thanks to the genius of Sam Masikini, an app developer who has designed an offline mobile learning app, “Inspire,” to make e-learning more widely accessible for schools in remote villages. Africa 54’s Technology Correspondent Paul Ndiho, via Skype, spoke to Sam Masikini, Technical lead, Inspire-learn team in Lilongwe, Malawi.
