CURBING ILLICIT FINANCIAL FLOWS IN GHANA

The African Continent loses about $88.6 billion of capital flight per year through illicit financial flows. According to a 2020 report published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. The west African nation of Ghana is one of the countries struggling to fight illicit financials in the mining sector.
Africa 54’s Technology Correspondent Paul Ndiho, via Skype, spoke to Angela Alu, a Ph.D. student in Finance, University of Ghana, and a Lecturer at Academic City University. Says Technology, if used properly, can help to curb illicit financial flows.
