Nearly 82,000 people have been deported or sent home voluntarily from South Africa in recent months, part of a sweeping crackdown that’s exposed just how messy the line is between enforcing the law and trampling on people’s dignity.
Speaking with Paul Ndiho on Different Perspectives, Bishop Joseph Mary Kizito said South Africa has every right to enforce its immigration laws, but warned that enforcement must preserve human dignity.
